The recreation arm of Colonial Park UMC provides a great opportunity for the entire family to keep fit and active.  ALL of our activities are open to EVERYONE, not just members of the church but members of the community as well!

Team Sport Opportunities

Colonial Park offers sporting activities for all ages throughout the year.  These activities are offered for different ages from 4 years through any active adult, and are open to everyone.  Some of the sports we offer include:

  • Baseball
  • Softball
  • Basketball
  • Soccer (spring and fall)
  • Kickball
  • Adult Volleyball

Other sport offerings that will occasionally be available are Wiffle Ball, Corn Hole, Golf Leagues, and Disc Golf.

Arts and Crafts

We are proud to offer various arts and crafts programs throughout the year. Classes in Photography, Stained Glass, Painting, Knitting, and Quilting are on the horizon as well as many more. If there is a class that you would like to see us offer, please let us know. Be sure to check here for a current listing of available classes.

Aerobic Dancing

This aerobic workout tones every major muscle group, strengthens the heart, slims your figure, and leaves you feeling exhilarated.  Aerobic dancing isn’t like other typical aerobic workouts because you feel like you’re dancing rather than exercising.  You can vary the level of your workout to best suite your needs and abilities.  The first class is free and there is a senior discount.  Classes meet in the Christian Life Center Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 8:30 to 9:30 am.

You do what with Pickles??? Nothing actually! If you have not tried Pickleball, you need to come and give it a try. It’s a lot like tennis and a lot like ping pong and a whole lot of fun. The Colonial Park Pickleball Club meets in the CLC every Sunday night at 6:30 pm and on Thursdays at 1:00 pm.

Yoga Classes

LaTina Thomas and Cathy Thordarson teach Yoga in the Christian Life Center every Monday and Wednesday evening from 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm.  Yoga is a practice used to attain union of the mind-body-spirit through a practice of yoga postures and breathing.  Yoga can be done by anyone at any physical level and requires little to no equipment.  The classes are open to everyone and can be adjusted to meet your own personal fitness level.  Mats are provided and the classes are FREE, so join us!  Donations are accepted.

Special Events

Throughout the year, Colonial Park offers several special activities not only to our congregation but also to the community.  Some of these include Health Screenings, vaccinations on site, CPR and First Aid Training, Self-defense courses, and others.

Check the calendar for further information.
