United Methodist Women

The United Methodist Women is a community of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.

Our UMW is actively involved in local mission projects over and above what Colonial Park does as a congregation. Our UMW is involved in everything from supporting the Methodist Hospital Auxiliary, Church Health Center, United Methodist Neighborhood Centers, Lakeshore Handicap Camp, Golden Cross Ministry, Reelfoot Ministries, the Heifer Project, Memphis Family Shelter, Madonna Learning Center, Memphis Interfaith Hospitality Network, just to name a few and there are others. We are a part of a national group of UMW women whose members have raised millions of dollars for mission work for women, children, and youth across the United States and every country you can imagine around the world – lives touched and changed through God’s love that is expressed through the UMW.
